District students, families and faculty attended the district’s fourth STEAM fair, held in the Jr.-Sr. High School gymnasiums and cafeteria on May 1.

The evening of hands-on activities provided ample opportunities for students and parents in grades K-6 to collaborate, explore, participate in new challenges and create. High School student-volunteers and faculty manned the booths and activities while students stretched their minds and imaginations. Most importantly, the community came together to have fun while learning something new or honing skills in an area of interest.

Among the activities were cup stacking, spaghetti structures, high school robotics, Lego walls, flashlight circuits, buoyancy boats, Ozobots, Makey Makey and merge cubes. High school research students also demonstrated how to make new proteins and extract DNA from strawberries, while representatives from the New York Marine Rescue Center introduced the community to sea life.Science Research students also exhibited their research projects.
