Principal's Message
Welcome to Tuttle Avenue Elementary School
I am thrilled to serve as the principal of Tuttle Avenue Elementary School and to be part of a community so dedicated to the growth, success, and well-being of our students. My goal is to work alongside students, families, and staff to create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
My journey in education began in the classroom, where I had the privilege of teaching students across many grade levels, including General Education, Special Education, and English Language Learner programs. Working with a diverse group of learners has made me appreciate each child's unique strengths as well as the challenges they may face. I also served as an assistant principal for six years, supporting teachers, fostering collaboration, and helping to create classrooms where students felt valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
At Tuttle Avenue, we aim to cultivate a school culture rooted in connection, creativity, and continuous growth. Our classrooms are spaces where students gain knowledge while developing as problem solvers and compassionate community members. Through the Leader in Me program, we empower students to take ownership of their learning, set and achieve meaningful goals, practice personal responsibility, collaborate effectively, and develop the leadership and life skills needed to succeed academically and socially.
We value strong partnerships with families and staff to ensure that every child feels welcomed, challenged, and inspired.
I am excited to be part of this community and to work with students, families, and staff to support the learning, growth, and success of every child.

Important Information
School Transportation
Morning Drop-off: Students who take a bus should plan to be at the bus stop at least ten minutes before the scheduled pick-up time. We will have plenty of friendly faces to greet the children as they get off the bus or are dropped off at school. Our bus loop will have our buses enter and exit on Tuttle Avenue. Please note if you plan on dropping your child off at school please use the drop off lane.
Dismissal: Our dismissal begins at 3:30 P.M. for our students. The classroom teacher will release your child to their bus driver. If your child takes a bus, please ensure that that an adult is present at the bus stop when your child is dropped off at the end of the day. If your child is a walker, parents should wait for their child outside at the front of the school. Please write a note describing any changes to the dismissal procedure and have your child give the note to their classroom teacher.
Absences/Tardiness
Please make sure you call the attendance office at 631-801-3059 when your child is absent. Once your child returns to school, please send in a note with him/her stating the dates and reason why your child was absent from school. If your child arrives late to school he/she must be signed into school by an adult at the main entrance.
Early Dismissal
I strongly encourage parents to try and schedule all activities and appointments after the school day. If it is an emergency and you need to pick up your child prior to the end of the normal school day you should do so prior to 3:10 P.M. due to safety precautions. In order to make the dismissal go as quickly as possible please send your child in with a note stating that you will be picking them up at a certain time. Children will only be released to their parent/guardians or emergency contacts. Photo identification is required when releasing children to ensure your child’s safety. If you need to make other arrangements, please write a note in advance to inform your classroom teacher of any changes in the dismissal procedure. Please be aware that siblings, cousins, neighbors, babysitters, etc. under the age of 18 cannot pick up your child under any circumstances.
