The District held a Family Night as an opportunity to bring English language learners and their families together while also celebrating students and the community.
Parents and caregivers learned more about the ENL program from Stacey Chiavola, director of World Languages and ENL. They explored resources to support learning at home and connected with faculty in a welcoming and supportive environment. World Languages Honor Society students were also on hand to assist and received an opportunity to use their language skills in an authentic setting.
“Not only was the evening a great success,” Ms. Chiavola said. “It was great to see so many families engaged, asking questions and sharing their children’s experiences. The event is a great way for ENL families to acquire additional resources and tools to assist their children in becoming more prepared in an English-speaking environment.”
