The District recently held an orientation program for English as a New Language students and their families, which provided additional community resources and the tools to assist students in becoming more prepared in an English-speaking environment.
After explaining how the program works, Stacey Chiavola, director of World Languages and ENL, congratulated students who reached the commanding level of the program, which means they have developed language skills that allow them to excel in all their classes among their peers. After introducing members of the ENL team, Ms. Chiavola described the process to enter the ENL program and the resources available. There were also tables with information on Infinite Campus, Parent Square, soccer registration, library cards and services, as well as faculty to fill in questions about attendance and graduation requirements.
