• The Board of Education values input and participation by members of the school community and has established board committees.
     
    These committees are chaired by a member or members of the Board of Education.  These committees are not empowered to act beyond reporting to the Board of Education.  The committees meet at the discretion of the chairperson.

  • AUDIT COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEEDED

    The Audit Committee is advisory only and is charged with the following specific duties:

    • Recommend external auditors to the Board
    • Review and discuss with the external auditor any risk assessment of the district's fiscal situation
    • Receive and review the draft annual audit report and accompnaying draft management letter; interpret these documents working directly with the external auditor
    • Make recommendations to the Board on accepting the annual audit report
    • Review every corrective action plan developed

    The Audit Committee is also responsible for helping oversee the mandatory internal audit.  In this capacity, they recommend internal auditors; review significant findings of internal audits; monitor the implementation of the recommendations and evaluate the performance of the internal audit function.

    There is no prerequisite for becoming a member of the Audit Committee, however, financial background would be helpful.
