From the Principal
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am grateful and excited about the opportunity to serve as the new South Street School Principal. I have fourteen years of experience in education with nine of those years being spent as an administrator. My most recent experience has been as the Junior High School Principal here at ESM. Prior to being the Junior High School Principal, I was the chairperson of the math and science departments where I managed annual budgets and guided curriculum planning. I have worked with the administrators and staff to promote student-centered classrooms and to increase inquiry-based learning. I look forward to bringing this collaborative spirit to South Street.
Dedication to student achievement has been a commitment of mine since entering the educational field. Prior to my appointment as Chairperson at ESM, I was an Assistant Principal in New York for over five years. My leadership philosophy is to foster positive interactions with school faculty, parents/guardians, and other key educational stakeholders. My professional experiences, both in education and in the private sector, have taught me the benefits of good communication. I will use that experience to ensure I am effective as the principal of South Street.
My educational background and personal experiences have helped shape my educational philosophy. I believe all students are capable of learning at the highest level possible. During the school year, we will focus on social emotional learning through PBIS and the 7 Habits as well as educational initiatives that will use data to drive instruction, and to provide consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to increase students achievement. The ESM educational system will provide our children with the skills they need to be successful in our global economy.
Thank you and I look forward to working with you this year.
