K-6 Multi-Tiered Systems of Support

The goal of our elementary Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) is to integrate the academic and social and emotional needs of our students into a cohesive monitoring structure. The foundation of MTSS is rooted in the following:

  • Universal Academic Screener in Reading and Math (i-Ready)
  • Tier I Core Instruction
  • Evidence Based Behavior Support (PBIS)
  • Tier II & Tier III Evidence Based Instruction to Support Student Learning
  • Data Monitoring System (Synergy MTSS Portal)
  • MTSS Teams
MTSS Strucutre - Tier 1: Core classroom instructions; Tier 2: Targeted small group instruction; Tier 3: Intensive individual intervention

The MTSS structure is based on the three tiered approach to academic and behavioral needs. Utilizing our school based evidence we make recommendations to support every child. In his work, Fair Isn’t Always Equal by Rick Wormeli he emphasizes the importance of decision making that supports the individual student. Dr. Stephen Covey asserts, “We treat all students equal by treating them all differently.”

We continue to reflect and work to enhance our MTSS process to support student success.
