Towers

  • Towers

Through engineering design students will use a process involving modeling to develop technological solutions to problems within given constraints.  The product the students will be designing is a model tower. These towers will carry 100 pounds of weight. The constraint is that this project is using simple coffee stirrers and construction glue. Projects will range from approximately 8 inches tall and 3 inches wide. Our grading or performance indicators for the students will be developed plans, including drawings and details of construction, and construct a model of the solution, exhibiting a degree of craftsmanship. The students will receive the overall grade by completing a written assessment of what was learned from this project.
