QUARTERLY JOURNAL ASSIGNMENTS
A scrupulous writer, in every sentence that he writes,
will ask himself at least four questions, thus:
1. What am I trying to say?
2. What words will express it?
3. What image or idiom will make it clearer?
4. Is this image fresh enough to have an effect?

Studies have proven that ANY type of writing will make us better writers. Therefore, a good habit to begin is journal writing. Assignments for your journal should be done on a weekly basis. Though you may be given time in class to work on your journals, you should stay on top of the entries so that you are not overwhelmed at the last minute. In addition to the following list, you may be given in-class prompts from time to time.
Minimum of one page.
Use your discretion as a young adult to decide if your writing is large
and you should go further. If it is questionable, err on the side of caution
and expand your piece.
