Dear Tuttle Families,
It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Tuttle Avenue School and to join this extraordinary school community. I come to Tuttle with 24 years of educational experience. I am extremely thrilled to begin this new school year, and look forward to meeting students, staff, parents, and community members. This exciting journey in the new step of my educational career is one that I am eager to take with all of you.
My goal here is to make sure your children are happy, safe and continue to grow in their learning. You will see that I have a great passion for reading and that passion will be shared with every child in this building. Teaching children to read is one of the most important gifts that we here, at Tuttle Avenue, can give to your child. It is a gift that will follow them for the rest of their lives. Reading should not be presented to children as a chore, a duty. It should be offered as a gift.- Kate DiCamillo.
Along with introducing myself there is also some important information that needs to be noted about this coming school year. There will be a 10 minute change to our building schedule. Our new school hours starting this September, 2018 will be 9:05 - 3:35. There will be NO CHANGE in the bus pick-up time for your child. Students will, however, be dismissed at 3:35 which will be 10 minutes earlier than last year’s schedule.
To our students, I cannot wait to meet all of you, hear about your adventures and the books that you have read over the summer! I hope that you are as excited for this coming school year as I am. It is going to be a fun year learning together!
In closing, please know that my door is always open to you. Your positive input and questions throughout the year are always welcomed. You can reach me at 631-801-3058 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to meeting all of you on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at our Open House and at our Tuttle Avenue Family Picnic on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.
Enjoy the remaining days of summer!
